nrichmedia is more than an office. When we aren't creating innovative, unique web sites and helping ethical and socially responsible businesses promote themselves online, we are spending time in nature and with our community. We take our work seriously, while enjoying it, and are constantly laughing at ourselves.

We keep up with the world, its events and the latest in web marketing and we have lunch outside looking out across the bay, to the Coast Mountain range. We create e-commerce sites, blogs, databases, brochures, and other promotional materials and we commute to work on foot or bicycle. We set clients up on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media and we find inspiring stories of people helping their communities and our earth to share on our social media pages. We love what we do and are inspired by the clients we work with.

We take pride in seeing our clients succeed. We have spent over a decade developing professional and meaningful relationships with our clients. We work with our customers well past the launch of their site. We evolve with their business and see them through changes in technology and design aesthetic.

The Heart of nrichmedia

Nathaniel Richman founded nrichmedia in 2000. Nathaniel graduated from the Vancouver Film School with a Certificate of Recommendation in Multimedia Studies in 1997 and has been working in the web design and new media industry ever since. In a previous life, he received a Bachelor of Mathematics degree (Honours Actuarial Science) from the University of Waterloo and worked in the pension consulting field. Aside from honing his problem-solving and programming skills, working in the consulting industry provided Nathaniel with valuable experience in how to build strong and lasting client relationships — an area in which he excelled. Nathaniel is the lead designer, sometimes programmer, and overseer of all things good at nrichmedia.

Arms and Legs

Arran Kerrigan is the Communications Manager at nrichmedia. Arran has an MA in English from the University of Aberdeen. Since graduating in 2002, Arran has enjoyed a number of diverse work experiences from teaching college English, to instructing trail running, to professional organizing, to writing and editing. This wide variety of experience provides the perfect combination for a communications manager as she is great with people, organized and motivated. She loves the work at nrichmedia because it is constantly evolving which means she is always learning. Arran oversees larger projects, coordinates the "body of nrichmedia" to ensure that everything runs smoothly and she is the voice at the other end of the line when you call.

The Brains Behind the Curtain

Bruce Provan is the programmer at nrichmedia. He has a diploma in Computer Systems Technology from Camosun College, Victoria, BC. He spent 10 years with the Ministry of Transportation and Highways starting off in PC support and ending up in administration and support of  their UNIX servers — which means he knows a lot about the inner workings of the web world. After that, he assumed a variety of roles with a large company such as managing a data centre of Linux servers, managing and training support personnel, and programming web applications. Now that he is here in the Comox Valley his focus is on web development.

nrichmedia occasionally works with other talented designers and programmers, according to the needs of the project, to provide you with the most professionally designed web site or presentation possible. We also have a wonderful partnership with Marketing Coach and Consultant, Juliet Austin, who specializes in writing attention-grabbing web copy that helps convert your web site visitors into clients.

The What and Why of Ethical Web Design?

When we talk about ethical web design, do we mean that we do not test our sites on animals? Well, yes that's true, but what we're really talking about is promoting ethical, green, and socially responsible businesses and non-profit organizations. It's what we like to call, “greening the web.” We take great pride in designing quality web sites for ethical, environmentally and socially responsible businesses and associations and are pleased to promote our clients through our portfolio and social networking sites.

We Give Back

nrichmedia donates 3% of proceeds on all projects priced at $1,000 and above to causes that are working hard to make the world a better place. Please see the list of organizations we are supporting.

These include LEED certified architects, green builders, health centres, eco resorts, yoga studios, organic food producers, farmers markets, counsellors, healing professionals, musicians, artists, hand-made bath and beauty products, safety programs, green technology innovators, foundations and non-profit organizations.
